LUKE HARDY Patina

LUKE HARDY Kuda

Luke Hardy is a photo artist based in Sydney. His work contemplates altered states and the thin line between the spiritual and the sensual. His subjects tend to be meditative, half-awake and even somnambulistic.

Hardy has spent several years living in Asia where he still travels. His work reflects a fascination with Zen and its concomitant aesthetics. He also has a passion for Japanese folklore. He hung work form his series Foxfires in the 2018 Sydney Contemporary Art Fair and in an expanded solo show at Stanley Street Gallery in Darlinghurst, both very successful.

The work on show here provides a glimpse of his next solo show at Stanley Street Gallery in February 2023 coinciding with the Sydney World Pride festival.

“Hardy’s photographs are memorable for their ethereal qualities, their faultless composition, their mysterious narratives and a distilled calm.” -- Sydney Morning Herald.
