The term I coined for the kind of image making I do is Street Noir.
It’a a genre which arose out of the continuous interaction between film noir (cinema) and street photography over the past 80 years. So… what is about Street Noir that is new i.e. not to be found in either classical street photography or film noir?
A feeling of uneasiness: one gets the impression there’s someone or something lurking just out of frame.
A degree of ambiguity: each Street Noir image offers a variety of possible meanings, none of which are apparent at first glance.
