Abandoned structures intrigue Lynn Smith. “They are like undiscovered worlds right under our noses” says Lynn. “Society has turned its back on these derelict, dangerous, trashy, rusted environments as if it was ashamed of them. Decay is a natural part of the lifecycle of all things. In photographing abandoned spaces at night for up to an hour I am trying to create a twilight zone… a no-man’s land between day and night… that has a beauty of its own”. Lynn is also completing a master of Documentary Photography degree at SCA.
